Asteroids (1979, Atari).
The intensity of the player's ship, the bullets and the UFO are very bright compared to the rest of the game elements. The asteroids are in a fixed orientation and do not rotate.
The high-score screen is very taxing on the vector display. It is just at the limit of what the Vectrex can do without too much flicker, although the corners are slightly rounded compared to the real W&G monitor.
The Asteroids font was designed by Ed Logg on graph paper and has only a few points per letter. It stores quite compactly at one byte per vertex.
