I bought a Transcend JDL360 to use as removable media for greater security. The problem is that it seats too well in the MacBook and is very difficult to remove.
So I though I would drill a lanyard hole in it to make it easier to pull out. This works fairly well for most SD cards and it didn't seem that the memory chip would be that large.
Unfortunately it does go all the way to the edge. The longer cards for different model MacBooks might be possible.
And the die inside the casing goes right to the edge, as you can see in this microscope closeup. Oh well. Better luck next time. Just think how much that 128GB would have cost even a few years ago!
