Dymaxion
Foldable Dymaxion map
I laser cut a foldable cardboard version of Dymaxion map, inspired by Noniq's wooden icosahedron map with really neat magnets. Mine is taped on the inside and the edges are somewhat disjoint, so I think a better approach would be to do a double-sided cut -- etch the pattern on the outside, then flip the piece over and ablate a large enough region to make the mountain-folds work.
Power settings to score the cardboard without going all the way through with my epilog command line tool were:
epilog \
--vector-power 20,100,100 \
--vector-speed 100,33,20 \
--raster-power 80 \
--raster-speed 100 \
-f 50 \
