Inspired by fellow NYC Resistor members Adelle and Sophie's laser cut origami, I tried to make an origami crane out of cardboard by partially mountain and valley folds using the laser cutter, but the material is just too thick.

The fourteen layers to make the head would be giant.

If you want to try, don't forget to reverse one of the fold layers so that it will be in the correct orientation when you flip the work piece.
